Overview

Karakoy Park is a comprehensive landscape design that gives Ankara residents a vibrant recreational destination while preserving the site's natural character, balancing nature, leisure, education, and community. It accommodates diverse activities and user groups through jogging and walking trails, picnic areas, a botanical garden, observation facilities, sports zones, creative workshop spaces, cafes and restaurants, and an administrative building. It is a multifunctional public space that encourages year-round use for all ages.

Concept

The concept is founded on the principle of Living in Harmony with Nature, preserving the site's ecology while integrating recreational and educational facilities. The master plan is organized around interconnected green corridors and pedestrian pathways linking the activity zones, promoting accessibility, sustainability, and environmental awareness through native planting and outdoor learning. The Botanical Garden and the Observation House are the central features, while the structures adopt a contemporary yet understated language with natural materials and transparent facades that blend into the landscape.
