A 150-year-old historic building near the White House in Washington, D.C. was restored and adapted into a contemporary embassy headquarters. The renovation preserves the building's heritage while resolving modern diplomatic, workplace, and reception needs.

The design follows a Heritage Reimagined approach, pairing the building's historic identity with the requirements of a modern diplomatic mission. Stone walls, timber details, and original decorative elements are framed by restrained contemporary interventions.
